Who we are

HelloDarl provides phone-based and AI-assisted welfare check-ins for older adults and their families across Australia.

Information we collect

We only collect what's needed to provide and improve our service:

  • Contact details: name, phone numbers, and nominated family or carer contacts.
  • Check-in details: time, result (e.g. "all good" or "needs follow-up"), and brief notes entered by our team or AI system.
  • Technical data: device identifiers and connection logs to maintain system reliability.

We do not record or store audio from calls.

How we use your information

  • To deliver scheduled welfare check-ins and reminders.
  • To alert nominated contacts or emergency services when a wellbeing concern is detected.
  • To maintain, secure, and improve our service.

We only use information for these purposes unless required by law.

Legal basis

We rely on:

  • Consent — you choose to participate and share contact details.
  • Provision of service — to perform the welfare check-ins you request.
  • Vital interests — to protect life or health where needed.

Data sharing

We share information only when necessary:

  • With your nominated contacts or emergency services for welfare reasons.
  • With trusted service providers (for example, call routing and message delivery).
  • When legally required (e.g. by subpoena or to prevent harm).

We never sell or trade your information.

Storage and security

We store data securely using encryption and access controls. Our systems and service providers follow industry-standard security practices.

Personal data is kept only as long as necessary to deliver the service and meet legal obligations, then securely deleted.

Your rights

You can:

  • Request a copy of your personal information.
  • Ask for corrections or deletion.
  • Withdraw consent and stop using the service at any time.

To do so, contact privacy@hellodarl.com or call us at info@hellodarl.com.

Complaints

If you have concerns about your privacy, contact us first.

If we can't resolve it, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.

Changes

We may update this policy as our service evolves. Updates will appear on this page with a new "last updated" date.
